Wood & Pickett Mini history
This Margrave Mini was originally purchased from Wood
& Pickett's Park Royal outlet in the mid-seventies
by Bernard Argent, who was an extremely well known
society photographer and his then wife Sally, who was
part of the McAlpine family, the road and civil
engineering family company. The story goes that Bernard
and Sally went to Wood & Pickett to have their own
Mini commissioned, whilst looking around at Park Royal
they saw this car under a tarpaulin. They enquired as
to what was under the cover and to their amazement was
this Margrave Mini. Then the car was purchased there.
The Margrave Mini is based on a 1275 GT, with fully de-seamed body, twin headlamps, full leather interior, smoked glass, electric windows, electric flush fitted sun roof, twin tanks, and Margrave Walnut dash. The present British owner bought this car from the family (via Wood & Pickett) and loves it!
